Arnold and the rebel for glory by Patricia

23 Mar Arnold and the rebel for glory by Patricia

The successfully fourth meeting of the Blue Danube Speakers was held on Thursday, 14th March 2013 in Kürnberghalle Leonding and convinced again with its high educational level.

After an initial welcome of 5 new guests by Markus, Moritz started an educational speech about the most important roles in a toastmasters meeting. The explanation of the different roles was not only interesting for the guests of this evening it was as well important for the new members.

Moritz informed us on the one hand about the importance especially of the “toastmaster of the evening” role – and on the other hand he tried to soothe our fears of being the toastmaster of the evening – Preparation is everything you need!

This pretty interesting speech was followed of two well-done icebreakers. Josef inspired us with his speech called “rebel for glory” and Martin amused the audience with his really funny speech “The peculiarities of being Arnold”

After a short break and a nice dinner we continued with the table topics, which were prepared by Erich. Erich was inspired by the actual topic of the pope election and prepared some interesting and funny questions on that topic. After voting the table topics there was a tie between Harald and Patricia.

In the end of this exciting meeting Patrick, Moritz and Tomas evaluated the speeches and tried to give some good and helpful tips to improve the next speeches.

The last meeting was certainly not VAPID – which was the word of the day chosen by Harald who was checking our grammar skills at this evening.
